Prologue…
I’ve never been a big birthday celebration kind of person since I don’t like to be the center of attention.
However, I look at birthdays as starting a new chapter in The Many Adventures of Bonnie and I want to make it memorable!
I’ve tried to spend my birthdays either in National Parks or nature, places that make me happy and bring me joy.
Iceland is known for both!

When I return to Iceland…

  • I’d love to do a campervan rental and do the Ring Road.
    The famous ‘Ring Road’ is a 1,322 km (820 miles) loop connecting most towns and villages. It is a road trip renowned for its variety of scenery, mountain passes, deep fjords, and many of Iceland’s most iconic sites.

I learned about Iceland’s budget airline called Play and discovered the cost was the same if I left tomorrow or in some date in the future, so I booked it!

New York Stewart International Airport to Keflavik
7/16 Flight 710pm>440am - 5.5 hours
7/22 Flight 340pm>550pm - 6 hours
Cost = $767.34 which included one carry on bag.

Since I arrived early and accommodation check in wasn’t for awhile, I ventured to the Blue Lagoon. At the time of my visit it opened at 7am. I booked the comfort access to the Blue Lagoon and the shuttle with their transport partner, Destination Blue Lagoon. After my experience I took a shuttle to my accommodation ($45/45 minutes).
