Week in Review: 4.14-4.20
It was another fun-filled week of adventures in Nashville!
Monday 4/14:
- Meetup: Trivia @ M.L. Rose (Capitol View) - unfortunately I didn’t realize it was Grey’s Anatomy Trivia and we bombed - scored a whopping 16 points.
Tuesday 4/15:
- Meetup: Happy Hour Travel & Tacos @ Otto’s Bar - aside from the amazing happy hour taco deals, I asked folks to share:
Ask me about x + Tell me about x. For example I said, Ask me about National Parks + Tell me about Peru.
Wednesday 4/16:
- Meetup: Game Night @ Bongo Cafe - We made it on their big event calendar and I taught 3 more people how to play Monopoly Deal!
Thursday 4/17:
- Walk with a friend @ Station Point Greenway - love friends who are ok with a walk at lunch instead of actually eating lunch and are game to explore new places!
- Adulting - Cleaning, Laundry + Guest Prep!
Friday 4/18:
- My friend Maureen arrived for the weekend! She was curious to learn what I liked about Nashville so much! :)
- Stretched our legs on a walk to and around Centennial Park with a visit to the Parthenon Museum where they currently have a special exhibit on The Muses.
- Tasted Moonshine & Whiskey @ 6th & Peabody - I’m not a big drinker, but this was something I wanted to do once when I had a visitor. Some crazy flavors including: pickle, pineapple, blue flame 128 proof, apple pie, sour grape, bourbon 96 proof 6 year, peanut butter whiskey, banana pudding, chocolate 40 proof & chocolate chip cream!
- Strolled Broadway to see the sights and hear the sounds!
- Ate BBQ at Rodney Scott’s Whole Hog BBQ located in Chiefs. Apparently he is a James Beard Award Winning Pitmaster!
- Chilled on a rooftop bar and listened to live music at Ole Red - The Lookout.
- Popped by the famous “Dragon Park” on our way home. The mosaic dragon reminded me of Park Guell in Barcelona, Spain.
- Watched “The Pitt” - It was good, but a little too graphic for me to commit to.
Saturday 4/19:
Happy Earth Day! This is my favorite earth day related song - always puts a smile on my face!
- Exposed Maureen to some Nashville live music @ 3rd & Lindsley for the afternoon Backstage Nashville show!
- Then learned a little Nashville history on a River Cruise @ Pontoon Saloon/Nashville Water Taxi.
- Finally it was time for some of Nashville’s best pizza @ Five Points Pizza East.
- Meetup: Up/Down Barcade - this was one of the most requested meetup locations and on Saturdays there are deals on tokens.
Sunday 4/20:
Happy Easter & Happy National Park Week!
- Took a little stroll in nature at Radnor Lake State Park and even got to see a Bald Eagle in a nest using one of the park binoculars! (Circle picture.)
- Continued the tiki tour of Nashville and stopped for donuts at Fox’s Donut Den - a local staple for over 50 years!
- Had to get a picture with 1 of Nashville’s many murals (What Lifts You - Wings) before heading to the airport.
- Meetup: Dining Around Town: Nawabi Hyderabad (Indian) - It was our largest dinner so far with 18 people. I did a little LinkedIn post about what inspired this!
Hope this was inspirational in some way!
